TIM BLAINETim Blaine spent half of his life playing or coaching basketball. In high school, he started on the West Albany men's basketball team in Albany, Oregon and earned a scholarship to play for the University of Montana Grizzlies. At 6'9" and about 175 pounds he wasn't the strongest man on the court but he made things happen for the Griz. During his junior year at Montana, the team won the Big Sky Conference, going on to the West Regional Semi-final at Memorial Coliseum to lose against UCLA by three points. He was Co-Captain his senior year and played a key role as a defensive specialist and high post. His love of the game didn't end in college and he continued his basketball career as men's basketball coach at the high school level in Montana and Oregon for over 20 years. Much of Tim's leadership journey in K-12 education, administration, and later in the corporate world were shaped on the basketball court. He passed away unexpectedly on August 4, 2017, and is survived by his wife, Susan; daughter, Macey Crow (Tyler) of Nampa, Idaho, and many family members, one of whom he was most proud is the College of Idaho Men's Basketball Coach, Colby Blaine.

THE SCHOLARSHIPThe Tim Blaine Memorial Scholarship for Colby Blaine Basketball Camps was started because of Tim's love for the game, his desire to watch his young grand-daughters possibly fall in love with the game, and the love and joy he experienced watching Colby Blaine's coaching journey (Head Men's Basketball Coach at the College of Idaho and Tim's nephew). Tim loved to take care of people, never the life of the party but always orchestrating the details behind the scenes to ensure that everyone had a place to come and be comfortable. This scholarship does just that for young basketball players, allowing them to attend camp without the worry of the financial details. It is with grateful hearts that Tim's family and the Colby Blaine Basketball Camp staff thanks you for your contribution in continuing Tim's legacy.
